چکیده

The use of metal oxide single crystalline nanowires for chemical sensing of pollutant gases has been proposed as a reliable solution to ensure high sensor performance due to small size of the crystallites and good stability over long term operation at high temperature. To obtain enhanced sensing capabilities of ZnO nws, we prepared composite nanostructures based on p-type NiO and n-type ZnO NWs that combine the different physical and chemical properties of individual components. The superior functional performances are demonstrated in the current work by testing functional properties of chemical sensors towards reducing and oxidizing gases. The ZnO/NiO heterostuctures showed better relative response towards acetone and ethanol, with a decrease in response and recovery times with respect to uncoated ZnO nws. This is especially evident at 400°C and for a determined thickness of the NiO layer. © 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. The study of humidity effect on carbon dioxide gas sensing properties of zinc oxide nanowires assisted by polyvinyl alcohol network at room temperature

In this research, Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures were synthesized by low cost hydrothermal method. The grown ZnO nanostructures had a dispersed distribution with nanowire morphology and the specific surface area of about 7 m2.gr-1 which they have crystalized in hexagonal wurtzite structure. ZnO nanowires/polyvinyl alcohol network (ZP) on the epoxy glass substrate with cu-interdigited electrods...

UV radiation and CH4 gas detection with a single ZnO:Pd nanowire

There is an increasing demand for sensors to monitor environmental levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and pollutant gases. In this work, an individual nanowire of Pd modified ZnO nanowire (ZnO:Pd NW) was integrated in a nanosensor device for efficient and fast detection of UV light and CH4 gas at room temperature. Crystalline ZnO:Pd nanowire/nanorod arrays were synthesized onto fluorine doped...

ZnO nanoparticles as sensing materials with high gas response for detection of n-butanol gas

The high crystallinity ZnO nanoparticles with an average particle diameter 30 nm have been successfully synthesized with a surfactant-mediated method. The cationic surfactant (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, CTAB) and the hydrous metal chlorides (ZnCl2⋅2H2O) appear to be the good candidates for obtaining a high yield of nanoparticles. The structural and morphological characterizations were carr...
